L’hotel de Mai

L’hotel de Mai is a classical hotel converted from a wooden former bank. The hotel is located in the old town of Sasayama, in an area where famous buildings from the late Edo period still remain. The interior is classical, containing a lot of designer furniture, lighting and antique decorations from the early Showa period. The walls and ceiling of the Japanese-style room are covered with washi paper dyed by a washi craftsman using persimmon tannin and charcoal, and the bedroom wall is finished with a wall of small bamboo, creating a space where you can enjoy the natural textures and changes over time.
